Welcome to Candlestone...

Since the opening of the golf course in the late 70’s, Candlestone established a reputation as one of West Michigan’s Finest Golf Courses. This was an important factor for the new owners when they purchased the entire resort in the summer of 2008.

Not resting on the past history the new owner set out to make Candlestone a better golf course.

They had 31 new tee complexes constructed so they could offer more teeing options to the players. Then they set out to improve the look and maintenance practices around every green. To do this, every sand trap on the golf course was re-shaped and new USGA spec sand was added. Along the way, over 25 new sand traps have been added to enhance the look of the golf course.

The new owners have promised to keep Candlestone’s golf course the best it can be by continuing to make improvements during the 2010 golfing season. For starters, a brand new fleet of electric golf carts have been purchased and will be in place for 2010. A new 4,200 sq/ft golf cart storage facility will also be available by mid April. This new building is being erected next to the new bag storage facility, (old pro-shop) which is also adjacent to the new bag drop area that opened in late 2009.

The new owners’ mission of turning a good golf resort into a great golf resort has been accomplished!
